The Navigator
My co-pilot, with a coat of curly white,
Beside me sits as miles of road unwind.
Your button eyes reflect the morning light,
A faithful presence, tranquil and so kind.
The window down, your silken ears a-flap,
You sniff the air, a world of scent and sound,
Then rest your head upon my weary lap,
As new horizons in our view are found.
No map can guide like your contented sigh,
No lonely highway with you by my side.
You watch the world in colors passing by,
A steady anchor on this winding ride.
So let us journey, just the two of us,
My poodle, perfect in your boundless trust.
